Dr. Marta Makowska
Dr. Marta Makowska is an Assistant Professor at Warsaw University of Life Sciences in Poland.
In 2004 she graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Sociology, and in 2010 completed her studies at the Graduate School of Social Sciences, defending a dissertation entitled Ethical Standards of Pharmaceutical Marketing.
Dr. Marta Makowska subsequently published a book of the same title, the first on this subject in Poland, and received first prize in the Federation of Financial Companies and Kozminski University Verba Veritatis contest for the best thesis in business ethics.
In 2013, as a recipient of a Mobility Plus Fellowship, Dr. Marta Makowska was a Visiting Scholar in the Pharmaceutical & Healthcare Marketing Department at Saint Joseph’s University, Philadelphia.
In 2019, as a recipient of Fundacja Kosciuszkowska grants Dr. Makowska to come back to Saint Joseph’s University for 3 months fellowship.
Dr. Marta Makowska’s research focuses on medical sociology with special attention devoted to the sociology of pharmaceuticals.
